Prince William Ankrah - Chairman

Prince William Ankrah is a Trade Unionist and an industrial/labour relations specialist with strong appetite for success and challenging initiatives.

He is the General Secretary of Ghana Mineworkers Union (GMWU) of the Ghana Trade Union Congress (GTUC).

He is a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, United Kingdom.

He has a Postgraduate degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from Warwick Business School, United Kingdom.

AMB. John Bentum Williams – Director

His Excellency AMB. John Bentum -Williams is a Commonwealth scholar holding a B. A (Honours) Economics Degree from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He is a Financial and Investment Consultant by profession, with extensive experience in the development and Implementation of Financial or Investment packages and project management.

AMB. John Bentum-Williams has served as Chief Executive of several companies including State Gold Mining Corporation (SGMC), Social Security Bank (currently SSB Bank) and Ghana Investment Centre (now Ghana Investment Promotion Centre). He has also worked as a Consultant to commercial institutions such as CITOH, Consultant to First Atlantic Merchant Bank, Resource Personnel to UNCTAD, and also Advisor to the United Mission to Somalia (UNOSOM).

In February 1997, AMB. Bentum-Williams served as Consultant (Chief Executive Officer) to the Ghana Chamber of Mines. He later took up post as Ghana’s Ambassador to Malaysia in March 2002, a position which he held till he was re-posted as Ghana’s High Commissioner to India. He is married with children.

AMB. Bentum-Williams brings to the Board of Golden Pride Savings and Loans rich experience in Banking and Management. He has served on several boards and committees both in and outside Ghana. Some are as follows:

  • Managing Director, State Gold Mining Company
  • Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Chamber of Mines
  • Ambassador to Malaysia
  • Ambassador to India

Osei Amo-Mensah – Director

Osei Amo-Mensah is a seasoned operationally-oriented Finance expert, with over 27 years’ experience in Financial and Management Accounting practice both in Europe and Africa. He also has enormous experience in the mining industry, building, strengthening and leading financial functions in various high-profile capacities.

Amo-Mensah served as a non-executive director and board chairman of a rural bank for 3years. He also served as the chairman of the AngloGold Ashanti Employees Provident Fund for 6 years.

He brings to the Board of Golden Pride Savings and Loans, comprehensive, in-depth experience across all technical accounting, finance, treasury, information systems and supply chain functions.

Amo-Mensah is a Chartered Accountant as well as an MBA holder from the Henley Management School, United Kingdom.

He has also served on several boards, including:

  • Board Member – Ghana Mine Workers Union Business Unit
  • Board Chairman – Adventist Institutions and Workers Fund Ghana

Sammy Aryee Welbeck – Director

Sammy Aryee Welbeck is a seasoned banker with several years of professional banking experience across the areas of Investment Banking, Private Banking, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Treasury and Private Equity, with speciality in Credit Management.

His previous roles include Managing Director of the Agric Development Bank (ADB), where he rose through the ranks as an Officer, Branch Manager, Area Manager and Deputy Managing Director.

His current and previous board memberships include:

  • Board Members – Ghana International Bank Public Limited Company, UK.
  • Board Member – Jei River Farms (Subsidiary of ADB)
  • Board Member – Modtay Company Ltd.

Martin Awuku Ahorney – Director

Martin Awuku Ahorney is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA UK), with MBA Finance from Baruch College, and has over 25 years’ work experience in the mining industry. He has worked in Ghana and Tanzania.

His previous roles include top management positions at AngloGold Ashanti, Goldfields Ghana Ltd., and Ghana Consolidated Diamonds.

The observance of poverty in the local communities bordering the mining properties, often in the midst of so much resource has made him develop interest in development economics. His fervent desire is to work with development partners to alleviate poverty and bring some joy to those communities.

He is presently the CEO of Seneca Consult Ltd., Ghana.

Johnson Boadi Asamoah - Managing Director

Johnson Boadi Asamoah is currently the Managing Director of Golden Pride Savings and Loans. He has extensive experience in banking with speciality in financing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

He holds an Bsc honours in Economics and Law and a Masters in Development Policy and Planning, both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and Diploma in Theology at the International School of Ministry (USA).

Boadi Asamoah has held various positions in his banking career. He worked with Ezi Savings and Loans Ltd. (currently First Trust Savings and Loans Ltd.), as an Executive Director in charge of Credit and also as Executive Director in charge of Operations and Administration.

He is also a member a number of distinguished bodies, including the Institute of Directors.

Until his appointment, Johnson Boadi-Asamoah was with HFC Bank Ltd., where he occupied various positions, such as, Head – Credit and Relationship Banking, Head – Business Development, Area Manager, etc.
